Danny Thompson Obituary
Danny Thompson, 16, of Belleville, Ill., born, Aug. 28, 1990, in St. Louis, Mo., passed away Aug. 15, 2007.
Danny was a student at Belleville West High School.
He was a member of the Maroons' Wrestling and Football Teams and involved in the Boy Scouts. Danny was employed this summer at B&B Lawn Care.
He was preceded in death by his two grandmothers, Janet Thompson and Imogene Naylor.
Those left to remember his smile are his father, Ray (Yvonne) Thompson of Belleville, Ill.; his mother, Marsha (Jan) Zimmermann of Junction City, Kan.; his brothers, Nicholas Zimmerman, Casey Zimmermann, and Zackary Zimmermann; two grandfathers, Kenny Thompson of Belleville, Ill., and Marshall Naylor; aunts and uncles, Candy (Paul) Buechler of Millstadt, Ill., Terry Lynn (Brian) Zipfel of Belleville, Ill., Penny (Kenny) Bollmeier of Marissa, Ill., and Sherry (Jeff) Heuer of Belleville, Ill.; his cousins, Alyssa Klotz, David Beuchler, Samantha Bollmeier and Brittany Zipfel; great-uncles, Johnny Thompson of Belleville, Ill., Jim (Carolyn) Thompson of Belleville, Ill., and Bob (Katie) Johnston of Belleville, Ill.; very special cousins, Lynn and Steve Tiedemann of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Jeff and Desiree Tiedemann of Belleville, Ill.; and other relatives and many friends.
When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not there to see; if the sun should rise and find your eyes filled with tears for me; I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today, while thinking of the many things we didn't get to say, I know how much you love me, as much as I loved you, and each time that you think of me, I know you miss me too, but when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand, and said my place was ready in heaven far above, and that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love.
Memorials are appreciated in lieu of flowers to the family.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at Valhalla Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Valhalla Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., with Rev. Doug Stewart officiating. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.

Im still thinking about you all. I looked for this poem today. Its not much but it made me feel better when I lost my grandmother 2 summers ago.
The Broken Chain
We little knew that morning that
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly.
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone,
for part of us went with you
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories.
Your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you,
you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one,
the Chain will link again.
Im still praying for all of you to have strength and cope through this difficult time..Ray, Marsha and the entire extended Thompson family. I know Danny made it to heaven. I have only heard wonderful things about him. You will see him again someday.

May the Lord comfort the family at this time. Danny was at our house at least once a day. He always told me him and NiCole would be married someday. He was a good kid. I thought an awful lot of Danny, he was just like one of my kids. Him and NiCole were very close. She is having a real hard time dealing with this. He will be missed but, he will always have a place in our Hearts.

I heard about this today and I am at a loss of what to say. My heart and prayers are with Ray and the entire family for you to have strength to get through this difficult time. I know this has not been a good year for the family. I wish Terry and I kept in better touch but I will always care about your entire family since I practically lived at the Thompsons during my teen years. I do believe Danny is with Janet, your mother, which I hope brings you some comfort. If there is ever anything I can help with, no matter how small, please let me know.
