Donna Stepp Obituary

Donna Stepp

Donna Jean Stepp, nee Curle 68, of Belleville, IL, born February 22, 1949, in Belleville, IL, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018, in Shiloh, IL.

Donna attended Roosevelt Grade School and Central Junior High School. She was a 1967 Graduate of Belleville Township High School. She then attended Central Business Institute and graduated in 1968. She worked at St. Elizabeth's Hospital for 35 years as a ward clerk and retired in 2004. Donna always loved her job and felt she learned something new every day. Donna was a life-long member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Belleville, and a member of the Fireside Club at the church.

Donna enjoyed people of all generations, and she especially loved children. She loved watching television and enjoyed old musicals and good comedies. She also loved dancing, crafting and making beautiful flower arrangements. Her latest project was making greeting cards for all occasions. Donna will be missed by everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur B. and Beatrice M., nee Steiner, Curle; her grandparents, Arthur T. and Lena, nee Ross, Curle, and Arthur W. and Mollie D., nee Paxson, Steiner; a brother-in-law, Daniel Brown; Aunts and Uncles; and a friend, Dennis Braun.

Surviving are her husband of nearly 42 years, Lawrence A. Stepp, whom she married on June 25, 1976; a sister, Mary Beth Brown of Belleville, IL; a brother, Arthur E. (Linda) Curle of Belleville, IL; step-nieces and nephews; special friends, Sheila, nee Boos, (Jim) Fritz of Thornton, CO, Doris (Walter) Bronikowski of Statesville, N.C., Leanna Braun of Red Bud, IL, and Debbie (Brian) Myer and daughters Lily and Layla of Red Bud, IL: and her special little furry baby, Rosie.

Donna expressed that she wanted to thank everyone that has been kind and supportive to her over the years, especially since her health problems increased. She felt she always had a good support group from her teachers, coworkers, and of course her family and friends.

"God saw me getting tired, and a cure not meant to be, he put his arms around me, and whispered "come with me."

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Benld No Kill Shelter, 807 Stewert Avenue, Benld, IL, 62209 or to The Muscular Dystrophy Association of St. Louis, 13801 Riverport Drive, Maryland Heights, MO, 63043. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

We are truly sorry for you loss. There are so many expressions and words to say at this time, but there is really not one word but a hundred to say how sorry. When you lose a loved one, you gain an Angel who's name you will know now and call her by "Donna." Prayers to you and your family.

Sincerely Casablanca
