Ida Meier
Ida Elizabeth Meier, 90, of Nashville, Ill., born Oct. 1917, in Biddleborn (Washington County), died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Good Samaritan Medical Center, Mount Vernon, Ill.
Mrs. Meier was a cook at Bob's Tavern in Nashville, she also did house cleaning, ironing and worked at Meier's Market in Nashville. She was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville where she was active in the Women's Guild. She enjoyed working with flowers, sewing, playing cards and bingo and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Meier whom she married on May 15, 1937, at the parsonage of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville, and who died in 1991; a son, Wilmer Lee Meier; a grandson, Don Meier; her parents, William and Mary Fenner Kraus; and two sisters, Vera Sensel and Luetta Petri.
Surviving are her children, Bob (Phyllis) Meier of Nashville, Ill., and Jean (Clarence) Kurwicki of Steeleville, Ill.; a sister, Inez Stolte of Bladwin, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Private family services will be held at the Styninger Funeral Home, Nashville, Ill., with Rev. Scott Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery, Addieville, Ill.
