James Bandy Obituary
James H Bandy, 90, of Belleville, Ill., born Sunday, July 6, 1919, in Granite City, Ill., died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
Mr. Bandy was an attorney for Listeman, Bandy & Hamilton, Attorneys at Law. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church and a former member of Gothic Lodge 852 AF&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies and Ainad Shrine. He was a member of the Illinois Bar Association and founder and former chairman of the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) of the Supreme Court of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold M. and Edna Mae, nee Pinson, Bandy; his first wife, Marjorie "Toni" Bandy; and a sister, Helen Miller.
Surviving are his wife, Hildegard M., nee Mathieu, Bandy; children, Debby Bandy of Tucker, Ga., Brian J. (Anne) Bandy of Lilburn, Ga., Albert (Dawn) Orelt of Belleville, Ill., and Rick (Sue) Orelt of Millstadt, Ill.; grandchildren, James (Jennifer) Bandy, Sgt. Thomas Bandy, Lauren Bandy, Emily Bandy, Gabriel Bandy, Lindsey Orelt, Jessica Orelt, and Jon Orelt; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church or Donor's Choice.
Visitation: None.
Funeral: Private family services will be held Friday, Jan. 29, 2010. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.

Jim Bandy was a great lawyer whose integrity was unquestioned and his ability unsurpassed. It was my privilege to be his law partner for 25 years. He was a superb citizen and defined "character" in every aspect of his life. I offer sincere condolences to Hildegard, Debbie, Brian and the entire extended family.
