Bainbridge, Georgia - James D. Gisondi, 76, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021.
The Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service with Military Honors provided by the U.S. Air Force will follow at Oak City Cemetery. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Jim was born July 5, 1945 in Gloversville, NY, the son of James Cosmo Gisondi and Esther Catherine Dunn Gisondi.
He graduated from Gloversville High School in 1963 and was part of the undefeated "Huskies" football team in 1962. Jim was Active Duty in the US Air Force. He received his MBA from Webster University in St. Louis, MO. He owned and operated Gisondi's Italian Restaurant in Belleville, IL and later Speedi Print Copy Service. His passion was cooking and he taught Italian Cuisine for over 40 years and proclaimed himself "The Prince of Pasta". Having a strong love of country, Jim started another career with the USAF, this time as a Civil Service employee working as a Program Manager on the C-17 Aircraft Project retiring in January 1999.
As a child in grade school he discovered his love for Buffalo that lasted his entire life, having procured over 1200 items in his collection including BALO, his 6 feet tall Buffalo in his front yard.
He founded the SOBS (Southern Ohio Banjo Society) in Springfield, OH and enjoyed playing for charitable organizations. Jim was also a loyal New York Giants football and Boston Red Sox baseball fan.
Once Jim and his wife, Linda, moved to Bainbridge in 2008, he became involved in many fundraising events utilizing his cooking talent, such as The Bainbridge Humane Society, Bainbridge Memorial Hospital, Bainbridge Historical Society, and Bainbridge Genealogical Society, just to name a few.
Survivors are his beloved wife and partner of 42 years, Linda Kay Jordan Gisondi of Bainbridge, GA who was his inspiration and support for many of his endeavors; his children, Diane Adams (Mark) of Glen Carbon, IL, Mary K. Williams of Fort Worth, TX, and James D. Gisondi, Jr. of Florida; his sister, Marie T. Sgambato of Bainbridge, GA; his 7 grandchildren; his 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Gisondi.
