Janet Schmidt Obituary
Janet K. Schmidt, nee Boxdorfer, 56, of Belleville, Ill., born Sept. 19, 1959, in Chicago, Ill., died Monday, November 30, 2015, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mrs. Schmidt was currently an Alderwoman for Belleville Ward 2 and Precinct Committeeman for Belleville District 7. She was a member of Four Winds Fellowship and a former board member of Metro East Pride. Janet served on the Board of Directors at the Center for Racial Harmony, Belleville, Ill.
Janet was preceded in death by her father, Hubert G. Boxdorfer; and a brother, Mark
Boxdorfer.
Surviving are her husband of 19 years, Ricky Gene Schmidt, whom she married on June 22, 1996; two sons, Elijah (Tiffany) Schmidt of St. Louis, Mo., and Tyler (Carolyn) Abide of Lansing, Mich.; a daughter, Wilhelmina Schmidt; and a granddaughter, Olive Louise Abide; and her mother, Sylvia M. Boxdorfer, nee Lintner of Caseyville, Ill.
