June Pflasterer Obituary

June Arline Pflasterer, nee Theobald, passed away on January 29, 2025, at the age of 91 in Belleville, IL. Born on November 10, 1933, in rural St. Clair County, IL, she was a longtime resident of Darmstadt and a graduate of Marissa High School.

June was a devoted member of the Holy Ghost United Church of Christ in Darmstadt, where she participated in many church and community activities. She was an avid card player, competing in several local groups through the years.

June is survived by her daughters, Brenda Reidy of Baker City, OR; Karen Puder of St. Louis, MO; Patricia Pflasterer of Springfield, IL; and Elaine (Douglas) Bugger of Hamel, IL. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Thomas Phillips of Madison, AL; brother, Dale (Mary) Theobald of Belleville, IL; sisters-in-law, Patricia Pflasterer of Belleville, IL, and LaVerne (Stephen) Jaworski of Millington, TN; eight grandchildren, Ethan (Aubrey), Christopher (Sara), and Michael (Erika) Reidy; Louis Puder III; Paige (Ryan) Long; Cody and Heather Phillips; and Michael Bugger; seven great-grandchildren, Lyla, Sylvie June, Calbert, David and Ava Reidy; and Hallie June and Mallory Long; and numerous nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Calbert A. Pflasterer, whom she married on July 4, 1954, in Darmstadt and who died on May 11, 2003; her parents, Adam and Anita Theobald, nee Bollmeier; and her children, Joan and Henry Pflasterer and Teresa Phillips. She was also preceded in death by her sons-in-law, Louis Puder Jr. and Matthew Reidy, her brothers-in-law, Rogers and Roland Pflasterer; her sisters-in-law, Carol and Marilyn Pflasterer; and three grandchildren.

June's life was marked by her dedication to her family and her faith, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Memorials may be made to Darmstadt Memorial Cemetery, Shriners Children's St. Louis, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home, Marissa, IL, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Holy Ghost United Church of Christ.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Holy Ghost United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Tarrah Vaupel officiating. Interment will follow at Darmstadt Memorial Cemetery.
