Marilyn Marks

Marilyn Jane Marks, nee Nicol, 79 of Collinsville, Ill., born Feb. 20, 1931, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Saturday Feb. 5, 2011, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Siteman Center, St. Louis, Mo.

Marilyn was a retired registered nurse for the former Lutheran Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo., after more than 30 years of service. She was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, having been the organist in the earlier years and was an active member in the L.W.M.L. and Church Choir along with many other church activities. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy J. and Clara L., nee Rothe, Nicol; and her husband, Robert Lee Marks.

Surviving are her five children, Cheryl Bonn of Collinsville, Terry (Diane) Marks of DuQuoin, Ill., Judy (Mick) Webb of Maryville, Pam (Marty) Hoffman of Collinsville and Janice (Barry) Wilson of Maryville; 14 grandchildren, Jarod (Heather) Marks, Shawn, Nathan, Bryce Marks all of DuQuion, Ill., Laura (Andrew) Andert of St. Peters, Mo., Nicholas Bonn of Collinsville, Alyssa Webb of Troy, Alex and Sam Webb of Maryville, Christian, Simon, and Emily Hoffman of Collinsville, Chelsea and Abbey Wilson of Maryville; four great-grandchildren, Marlene, Elaine, Danielle, and Avree; a "sister" cousin, Elaine (Bill) Cole of Purdy, Mo.; and a cousin, Jack Rothe of Indiana.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday Feb. 10, 2011, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1300 Beltline Road, Collinsville. Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday Feb. 11, 2011, at the church with Rev. Michael Walther and Rev. Paul Hemenway officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery Collinsville, Ill.
