Michael Baker Obituary
Michael D. Baker; 48, of Belleville, Ill., born Dec. 19, 1961, in Sparta, Ill., died Monday, July 19, 2010, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
Mr. Baker was a roofer and worked for Geisler Roofing. He was a member of the Labor Union.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Betty, nee Warren, Erb; and a sister, Ruth Ann Hearell whom died in infancy.
Surviving are his significant other, Bonnie, nee Kehrer, Smith; two sons, Paul Baker of Oakdale, Ill., and Brett Baker of Marissa, Ill.; three grandchildren, Laney Marie, Arianna Nicole, and Ryleigh Ashton; and three sisters, Jean (Roger) Sandheinrich of Waterloo, Ill., Edwina Earl of Afton, Mo., and Carole Lynn Jadron of Joliet, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010, and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, at the Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, Ill.
Funeral: Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, at the Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, Ill. Burial will be held in the Marissa Township Cemetery in Marissa, Ill.

My soul is grieved at the loss of a co-worker and friend.Michael was a solid journeyman roofer-the backbone of companies like ours'. We'll not just pick up the phone and replace a man like him, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to tell him so in a meeting we were in together just a few weeks ago. Michael will be sorely missed at Geissler Roofing Co. I'll continue to pray for his family and friends. Sincerely,
