Omar Bates Obituary
Omar L. Bates, 49, of Granite City, Ill., born on Sept. 6, 1960, in Montier, Mo., passed from this life on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, Ill.
For many years, Mr. Bates worked for the CDL Company in St. Louis as a truck driver delivering pharmaceutical supplies. Omar loved to camp, fish and just be outside. He spent many hours at Wilson Park swimming pool enjoying his family and friends. He was an avid wrestling fan and enjoyed good food.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Surviving are his mom, Betty, nee Spangler, Iden of Liberty, Mo.; two sisters, Jeanie Brooks of Granite City, Ill., and Mary Jane Combs of Liberty, Mo.; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral: A private family memorial services will be held at a later date.

Omar will be sadly miss, we go back over 35 years he was one of my best friends .we where together like brothers growing up his mom and dad where like my own parents.i am in shock.i am keeping his loved ones in prayer God Bless.
