Robert Determan Obituary
Robert James "Bob" Determan, 46, of Collierville, Tenn., formerly of Belleville, Ill., born Feb. 20, 1963, in Belleville, Ill., died unexpectedly at his home in Tennessee.
Bob was a talented electrical engineer who owned his own business, BCD Controls, Inc. His life centered around his daughter, Chelsea, who attends Collierville High School. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, rock climbing, boating, and camping. Bob's motto was "Life is Good."
In addition to his daughter, Chelsea, Bob is survived by his parents, James and Rita, nee Jansen, Determan of Swansea, Ill.; three sisters, Jody (Charles) Allen of Denison, Texas, Karen (Jon) Osborn of Germantown, Ill., and Cindy (Pete) Burton of Overland Park, Kan.; a brother, Dan (Beth) Determan of Red Bud, Ill.; and six nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his daughter, Chelsea Determan, and will be accepted at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2009, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., with Monsignor William McGhee officiating. Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.

I knew Bob all the way back from High school. He always had a joke to share. Bob was one of the rare few that you liked instantly. Bob,you will be missed.

Bob would tell us that he would be here one day and show up 2 days later in Bob fashion....leave his dog...mess my bathroom up, left his plate on the table, made us laugh till we cryed.....We Love You So Much Bob and we will see you when we get there....it could be 2 days or so, but we'll be there love......

My deepest sympathy to the family. I knew Bob in grade school and high school, but grade school brought back the most memories. The boy was always smiling and laughing while making everyone else laugh. He will be sadly missed. My prayers are with you at this time of sorrow.

my deepest sympathies for the entire determan family. a family full of wonderful genuine people. bob and i spent alot of time together in the later years of grade school and even once we entered high school. sadly, the time/years passed far too quickly and i regret not staying in closer contact with him since he was one of the sweetest kindest sincere men i have ever known.....i will miss him greatly.

My deepest sympathies are extended to the family and friends of "Bobby" Determann. While I hadn't seen him or spoke to him since high school, I remember him as being the "nice" guy. He was always polite and respectful to the girls which was not a common trait for boys of that age. He was the type of guy we mothers hope our own daughters will get to know and give a chance. A sweet, sweet, person. God bless you all during this difficult time.

Please accept my sympathy, Bob was a very kind and funny person. I had the opportunity of going to Grade School with him, and he made me laugh on a daily basis. He will be missed greatly. May the Lord shadow you with His love in this difficult time. God Bless to All!

Dearest Chelsea and Determan Family,
I will cherish my 30+ year friendship with Bob. He was a dear friend since high school and we never lost touch. I've attached a picture that Bob once sent me...it's outdoor beauty describes where he wanted to be and where I now believe he is now in peace. I will never forget his smile or sense of humor. His endless stories about Chelsea, I always knew what was going on in her life without even seeing her. Chelsea and family, we are so sorry to hear about your loss.Chelsea worked at Prairie Life Fitness in the Youth Center and absolutely loved working with small children. Sydni and Marquis always wanted mommy to go work out so that they could spend time playing with Chelsea. I know that you will miss your dad, but rest assured that he has raised a wonderful, smart, and beautiful young lady .
