Ronnie Glen Joyner
April 4, 1948—November 12, 2025
Ronnie Glen Joyner, age 77, resident of Memphis, Tennessee, departed this life on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Mr. Joyner was born on April 4, 1948, in Collierville, Tennessee, the son of the late William Samuel Joyner and Helen Lucille Donaldson Joyner. Ronnie attended from Collierville High School. He served in the U. S. Army from 1968 to 1971, serving his country proudly in the Vietnam War. After serving in the military, Ronnie began working as a mail courier for United Parcel Service and worked for 30 years before retiring in 2008.
Ronnie married his wife, Brenda McIntyre, on August 4, 1967, enjoying 58 years of loving memories. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee and loved to hunt and farm. He enjoyed driving tractors and some of his best times were riding the countryside with his wife, Brenda. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Ronnie was a hard worker, and loved his wife and family unconditionally.
Mr. Joyner’s best friends were his brothers: Bennie, Herman, John and Harold Joyner.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lucille Joyner; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Howard and Lucy Franks; and 2 brothers, Bennie Joyner and Herman Joyner.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Brenda McIntyre Joyner; 2 daughters, Rhonda Joyner (Butch Conway) of Memphis, Tennessee and Amy Traylor (Brandon) of Somerville, Tennessee; 2 brothers, John Joyner (Brenda) and Harold Joyner, both of Somerville, Tennessee; 4 grandchildren, Stephen Watkins (Amanda), Katie Traylor, Sarah Traylor, and Andrew Stewart (Lauren); and 6 great-grandchildren, Layla “Scooter” Watkins, Olivia Watkins, Brynlee Watkins, Jaymee Stewart, Blakely Stewart, and Nolan Stewart.
Visitation for Mr. Joyner will be at Peebles Funeral Home West Chapel on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with services following at 2:00 PM with Pastor Stephen Watkins officiating. Interment will be private.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tobey Joyner, Andrew Stewart, Nolan Stewart, Butch Conway, Walter McIntyre III, Jeff McIntyre, and Brandon Traylor.
Memorials may be sent to either the Shady Grove Cemetery or the VA.
