Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Rebecca, nee Harrison, Mauch, whom he married on Sept. 9, 1972; two daughters, Rosanne Rebecca (John Wade) Thurber of Daphne, Ala., and Victoria Stuart Mauch of Belleville, Ill.; a grandson, Johnathan Wade "Jack" Thurber; three brothers, Larry A. I have been a patient of Doc's for the last 20 years, however, I had 'grown up' with him since I was 6 since my Grandma and Mom were both patient's of his until their passing. He was incredible and lectured me at various times as though he was my Dad instead of Doc... but for him- there was no difference. When loosing both my Mom and Grandma he was as sad as anyone could be- but yet strong. I was devestated to get the letter telling of his passing, but hold so many memories fondly. I know right now he is in Heaven raising cane with my Mom and Grandma as though no time has passed and they are just enjoying the limitless time of each others company. Rest Doc- you have taken care of others for years- and we will see you again one day.

Dr. Mauch's Family and Office Staff,
When Vic and I heard of Dr. Mauch's passing, we both started crying, we coulnd't believe it. God truly took the "very best" doctor in the world to Heaven. We know God will take good care of him because he was such a great, caring, wonderful man. We will never forget him. He always called me "Crazy Karen" and he always made me laugh. I, on numerou occasions, told him you better not leave this world before me because you can never be replaced. I told him if you move to California, so do we--we will follow you wherever you go. He was so personable--one of my visits in the spring I heard him talk about going on a cruise to Alaska. So when I went in to see him, I asked him about his cruise and said you should definitely go on the cruise--you only live once. He said, "I guess I'll go, although I'm not to fond of the boat thing. I told him it would be fun and he deserved a vacation. Dr. Mauch and his office were the "very best" in the world and I pray for everyone that has suffered his great loss. May God Bless his loving wife, children, family members and friends at this most difficult time.
Rest in peace Dr. Mauch--you deserve it.

We send our deepest sympathies to Dr. Mauch's family & his "office family". Stuart has been my Dr. since the mid 70's and a high school friend of my husband. Having a Dr. that was also a friend, was a wonderful plus when it came to our health care. He was a compassionate man that took the time to know his patients. He was a "hometown Dr." - they are few and far between in our current times. Our community has suffered a great loss with the passing of Dr. Mauch. Cherish your memories.

Dr. Mauch was my doctor from 2000-2007, and his father treated my grandfather. I hadn't seen him since I moved away, and now I wish I had stopped in when I was home. Rest in peace, Doc. My sympathy to the family.
