Susan Kujawa

Susan W. Kujawa of Fairview Heights, IL, entered rest at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, O'Fallon, IL, on December 28th, 2017.

Born on September 26th, 1938, she was the daughter of Ed and Hulda (Ibendahl) Sterns. She was united in marriage to Walter S. Kujawa on August 25, 1962. She was a homemaker and employed at Target along with many other sales positions. Sue always had a smile on her face with anything she did. She enjoyed sitting on her back patio, bird watching, and having names for all of her plants. If she wasn't at home, she was busy traveling, taking cruises, gambling, playing cards, or spending quality time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Walter S. Kujawa, son, Robert Kujawa, and daughter, Denise Beckmann, along with her parents Edward and Hulda Sterns, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Surviving and left to mourn her passing are two daughters, Charlotte Reeves of O'Fallon, IL, Tracy Nicholas (Bobbie Haven) of Fairview Heights, IL, three sons, Walter Kujawa (Joseph Walsh) of Belleville, IL, Stacy Kujawa (Julie Lento) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and Brian (Jordan) Kujawa of Crossroads, TX. Brother, Fred (Linda) Sterns of Oakdale, IL. Sister, LaVerna (Thomas) Malinski of Tamaroa, IL. Ten grandchildren, Michael French and Derek (Mary) Reeves of Belleville, IL, Brittany Kujawa and Megan Kujawa of St. Louis, MO, Haley Wittlich and Alia Beckmann of Fairview Heights, IL, Nicholas, Riley, Taylor, and Gracelyn Kujawa of Crossroads, TX; and great-granddaughter Autumn Reeves. Along with brothers-in-law, Albert (Rose Ann) Kujawa of Nashville, IL, Ernest (Rose Marie) Kujawa of Scheller, IL, Alex (Marsha) Kujawa, and Charles (Janet) Kujawa, and Francis (Cindy) Kujawa all of Ashley, IL. Sisters-in-law, Bernice Kwiatkowski, Elsie Flerlage both of Mt. Vernon, IL, Maxine (Roy) Wright of Waltonville, IL, Laverne (David) Schumn of Keenes, IL, Helen (Leo) Witges of Scheller, IL, Hattie (Stanley) Geppert of Oakdale, IL, and Mary Ann (John) Krus of Nashville, IL.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fairview Heights, IL with Father James Nall officiating. Interment will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Radom, IL.
