Tim de Vries
February 25, 2025
I am Tim de Vries, son of Martin and Johanna de Vries. Through George Barrit, I´ve just learned about the passing of my cousin, Ben. I´m so sorry for your loss and please accept my deepest condolences. To me, Ben was larger than life. I met him when he visited our home in Akron, Ohio in 1963. I was in awe of my large cousin who had a cattle ranch in California. The story of his eating at an all you could eat steak restaurant, only to be told they would serve him this time, but he would never be allowed back, is legendary in our family. Now that my wife and I live in California, it saddens me that I never connected with him. Ben is not forgotten in my family.
