Elizabeth Danielsen Obituary

Elizabeth Rosalie Gray Danielsen was born in Great Falls, Montana on August 7, 1921. She grew to adulthood in West Seattle and held special memories of swimming at Alki Beach with her brother and Sister. She died in Issaquah, Washington on March 9, 2008 at the age of 86. Betty is loved and missed by her sister, Sister Winifred Gray, and her children, Tom, wife Sue; Mary Ann, partner, Laurie, and son-law, Chuck. She will be remembered always by her loving grandchildren who added such extraordinary joy to her life, Sam, Autumn and Tommy Lee. Betty began the latter portion of her life with a flourish, traveling the world with the true heart of an adventurer visiting England, France, Italy, Copenhagen, Japan, and Germany. She spent time in the capitals and the countryside relishing all of her moments exploring the globe that she, as an avid reader, had dreamed of. Betty was courageous and kind, brilliant with a wicked sense of humor that remained throughout her days. But mostly she was a mom who loved her family unconditionally and a woman who tried to live fully through friendship, family, travel, literature, education and her quiet devotion to God.

Not only was Betty my mother-in-law, but she was, up until her death, one of my closest friends. I know my life is richer having had her in it. The world seems much emptier now.
