Oh my goodness, this is shocking news. We met Jon in 2022 through his donated "Lunch & Sail" to Animals As Natural Therapy, where I serve on the Board. When booking our date, Jon asked if we knew Hank Krapf (the same last name as ours). OMG, it was my father-in-law! As it turns out, Jon had traveled with a friend in Europe in the late 70s, stopping in Oberammergau, Bavaria Germany, working at the NATO Community Club for my father-in-law, Hank. We had a wonderful time with Jon during the Lunch & Sail, reminiscing about many good times he had with my father-in-law. As it turns Jon had met Hank's son, Fred, my hubby while there too. Such a small world & a very special connection

Jon and I met at Santa Clara High School in Oxnard, CA as freshmen. We shared classes, sports teams and other friends. He was sensitive, funny, warm and thoughtful, all traits that aided us when we took a bicycle trip in the summer of 1978. Mechanically inclined, map reader extraordinaire and with my Spanish and his beginner French we managed to ride and camp through 5 countries in Europe. That autumn we found jobs together at a NATO Community Club in a wood carver's village called Oberammergau in Bavaria, Germany. He found his path to happiness in the Northwest with assisting, teaching and sailing. Take care, Jonny
