Mary Middleton Obituary

1942 - 2010 Mary Middleton, a long time resident of Whatcom County, passed away peacefully at her home amongst her family on April 14, 2010. Born in Seattle she lived the majority of her first twenty-two years in the Emerald City. After marriage in 1963, she moved with her family to their home and farm of 46 years on the Central Road where she shared in the raising of both berries and cattle. She also spent fourteen years working as a mail carrier for the Lynden Post Office. But in what she viewed as her most important roles Mary focused her energies on being a loving wife, supportive mother, and doting grandmother. She is survived by her husband William Middleton, her son and his wife and children Michael , Stacy, Clayton, and Honour Middleton, her daughter and her husband and children Kelly, David, Joseph, Dylan, and Amanda Sweitzer, and her four siblings Candy Borderrampe, Colleen Goertz, Michael Barber, and Emily Weaver. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Stillwaters at Greenacres Memorial Park, corner of Northwest and Axton roads. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Mary's name with either the American Diabetes Association or Whatcom Hospice. Additionally, for the sharing of memories and condolences friends and loved ones are encouraged to access the online guest book offered through Moles Family Services at www.molesfuneralhomes.com

My Sister My Friend:

When we were growing up, Mary was my BIG SISTER. I thought she was the coolest of the cool, and I looked up to her. I wanted to wear her clothes, play her records....borrow her shoes.

We shared a bedroom for a while, and I remember her being frustrated with me, because my side of the room was usually messy, while Mary's side was always neat and tidy!

I remember her walking us to Sunday School. I remember her babysitting us and making the best peanut butter sandwiches. I remember us playing board games, football in the front yard, and kickball in the street until dark.

She was just BIG SISTER to me back then, ........but through the years, she became my friend. I think I will miss her laughter most of all.

I love you SIS...... Peace be with you always. Your Sister Candy

I always enjoyed spending time wirh the Middletons' when I was growing up and loved to listen to Mary laugh and visit. She will always hold a special place in my heart. With much love, Laurie Ann
