Michael DiMuccio Obituary

Michael Robert DiMuccio, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully on December 28th at St Joseph's Hospital in Bellingham after a two year battle with dementia. He resided at "Bellingham at Orchard" the past two years. The family wishes to thank the staff and everyone there for the wonderful, caring attention that he received. He is survived by his wife Joanne, son Michael David, daughter Laura and her husband Alex, and two beautiful grandchildren, Jason and Jessica. Michael was preceded in death by his parents Bertha and Michael Anthony DiMuccio Michael was born in Newcastle, PA. He was raised in Southern California, living in Lakewood, CA until moving to Bellingham, WA in 1978. He went to St Anthony High School in Long Beach, CA and also went to UCLA where he was a second basemen for the varsity team. He was a sergeant in the US Army, serving in Korea. He had a 30 year career for the US Postal Service in Long Beach, CA and Bellingham, WA. After retirement, he and his wife Joanne enjoyed many travels, his favorite being a seven week trip to Australia. He was a very talented man. Among other things, he built a house in Bellingham where his wife still resides. He enjoyed all sports and was an avid Husky football fan, as well as baseball and hockey fan. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. He added many things to a lot of people's lives. He wanted no formal service but there will be a celebration of his life on his birthday, June 5th at Cascade Pizza in Bellingham, WA.
