Scott Whitehead Obituary

Scott William Whitehead, age 56, beloved husband, father and grandfather, was welcomed home to be with Jesus on Monday, January 5th, 2009 after his valiant fight with cancer. He was married to Tracy (Boraker) for 33 years and they had 4 girls DeAnna (Aadam) Marshall, Stefanie, Whitney and Maddie Whitehead. He adored his grandchildren as they did him, Rylee, Baylee, Corbin and Eli. Scott was born September 11th, 1952 in Yakima, WA. Scott had a very close family. His parents Ed and Rae Whitehead and brothers Greg (Janeen) Whitehead, John (Kristen) Whitehead and sisters, Wendy (Chris) Johnson, Sally (Kris) Runestrand and numerous nieces and nephews. Scott is well known for his love of music. One of Scott's many joys was cooking for his family. Scott loved people. He always made friends easy and wanted to be a friend to all. And many know Scott as the owner, of Mainsource Movies and Music from 1987 to 1999 in Ferndale, WA. Scott will be dearly missed. It hasn't been easy for his loved ones to see him go so early in his years, but Scott is finally pain free and at rest with his Savior in heaven. He is greatly loved. The family invites you to join them in a celebration of his life at 2:00 pm Monday, January 12th, 2009 at Christ the King Community Church in Bellingham, WA. Pastor Deni Starbuck, a close friend of the family is officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christ the King FoodBank.

Dear Tracy,
I am sorry about your loss of Scott. He was always so kind and had a great out look on life. His laugh was contagious. I remember when I told you both that I was leaving Dr Kahn's office, he was sad, but so encouraging. He was selfless and kind. It was my honor to know him and be a part of your lives, even if only for a short time. Take care of yourself. I am sure that our paths will all cross again one day. I am sorry that I was not able to come to his service, I would have been honored to be a part of it.
Very Fondly,
Robin

My brother Scott was very special to me. As a younger brother Scott was always there for me. He was the ultimate family man. He loved his family and mine and he was all about the family party. Scott had a postive outlook on life at all times. I will miss Scott's great laugh.

Scott was so strong willed and determined to continue his life even though he was so terribly sick. Tracy has been such a loving and caring wife and friend to Scott all of their lives together. We are so grateful for all the support and help that Scott received from his wonderful in-laws Everett and Helen and Charlotte Boraker. They were a blessing in his life. He was much loved and will be greatly missed.

Maddie - I had no idea your dad was even sick until yesterday at school. I am so sorry to hear of this. I was glad to read that he went "home" to be with his Lord and Savior. It's the only comfort we have during these times . . . and each other. May your family draw closer to each other and to God.

I am praying for you and your family Maddie.

Whitney I love you so much and I know how hard it is to go through this loss and see your family share the same pain. I'm here for you.

Remember when your dad shot your air soft gun at the wall and it bounced back and hit him in the head. FUNNIEST thing ever. Even though your dad isn't here he will always be able to make me laugh with that memory.

I love you mom and maddie!

*hugs*

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord
