Melvyn Namminga Obituary
He was born on April 10, 1940 in Darien, WI, the son of Stephen and Theresa (Kuiper) Namminga. Mel was a 1959 Beloit Memorial High School graduate. He married Sandra Weeden on June 22, 1962 in People's Church, Beloit, WI.
Mel was formerly employed by Rockford Products as a cost estimator. He was a faithful member of People's Church. Mel had an extensive collection of model cars. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan. But above all, family was his biggest joy.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sandy Namminga; son, Terry Namminga; grandchildren, Cassie (Abe) Alexander, Kayli Namminga, Max Namminga, Luke Namminga, Emily (Dakota) Rumery; bonus granddaughter, Shannon Kosak; sister, Eleanor DeRoos; daughter-in-law, Sue Ann Namminga; niece, Beth (Paul) Sedivy; nephews, Brian (Vicky) DeRoos and Bruce DeRoos; other relatives, friends, and the People's Church family.
Mel was predeceased by his parents; son, Todd Namminga; grandson, Jacob Boegli; and brother-in-law, Donald DeRoos.
A Visitation of Remembrance for Mel will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024 in People's Church, 340 W. Grand Ave., Beloit, WI. Visitation will also be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024 in People's Church. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Pastor Ron Tefft officiating. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may made to People's Church or Beloit Regional Hospice.
