Albert "Ozzie" Lepper Jr.

DORSET -- The First Congregational Church of East Dorset was filled Thursday morning, Dec. 1, 2005 for the funeral of Albert “Ozzie” Lepper.

Pastor Larry Jenney and the Rev. David Olvera conducted the service. Music was under the direction of organist Marjorie B. Johnson, who led the congregation in the singing of the hymns “The Solid Rock,” “Higher Ground” and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus.” The Rev. Jenney offered the invocation and the lessons from God’s creation. The Rev. Olvera offered personal reflections and words of remembrance. Many of Ozzie’s friends and family members commemorated his life and the influence he had on all of them.

Interment followed in the family lot in South Village Cemetery where the Revs. Jenney and Olvera offered burial rites and committal prayers. Full military honors were accorded by the Harned-Fowler VFW Post 6471 Manchester, under the command of Steve Leach. Other members of the color guard included Steve Byrne, Tom Hayes, Wink Roberts and Gerald Coleman.

The flag that draped the casket was folded by color guard members Steve Byrne and Tom Hayes and presented to Mr. Lepper’s wife, Bonnie. Serving as pall bearers were Peter Henry, Francis Moriarty, John Donoghue, Chuck Gains, Fred Maas, Brooks Brown and Tom Buckley. A time of fellowship and refreshments followed the service at the Wilson House in East Dorset.

Albert “Ozzie” Lepper Jr., a resident of Village Street in East Dorset, died Nov. 28, 2005, at his home surrounded by his family.

Arrangements were under the care of Brewster Funeral Service 34 Park Place, Manchester Center.
