1962-2014 NORTH BENNINGTON Diana Lee Sharp, 51, a resident of Corey Drive, passed away unexpectedly from a medical illness Friday morning February 21, 2014 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Diana was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on December 22, 1962 the daughter of Albert and Roberta (Williamson) Mott. She was educated in Edison, New Jersey and Plainfield, Connecticut schools, graduating from Mt. Anthony Union High School in Bennington, class of 1982. Diana worked for Brooks Pharmacy, Paulins in North Bennington, was the custodian for the Vermont State Police Barracks, worked as the crossing guard for the North Bennington Graded School for twenty-five years and along with her husband Darren, owned and operated Darren D. Sharp, Incorporated Chimney Sweeping. She was a member of the Shaftsbury Fire department Ladies Auxiliary and President of the National Ferret Group on Facebook. She loved riding her motorcycle, boating, fishing and spending time on Sanabel Island with Darren. Diana is survived by her husband Darren D. Sharp of North Bennington whom he married in Plainfield, Connecticut on February 16, 1980, daughters Jennifer Leigh Cross and her husband James and Amy Paige Billings and her husband Carl both of Bennington, her parents Alberta and Roberta Mott of North Bennington, her mother-in-law Patricia Smith of Bennington, grandchildren Nakita Cross and Tyler and Alex Billings, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and her special cat Domino. She was preceded in death by her father-in-laws Frank Sharp and Robert Smith. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Diana will be held Wednesday morning February 26, 2014 at 11am at the Green Mountain Christian Center in Bennington. Interment will follow in Center Shaftsbury Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday evening February 25, 2014 from 6-8pm at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home 213 West Main Street Bennington, Vermont. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Diana's memory may be made to the Green Mountain Christian Center, c/o Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home P.O. Box 957 Bennington, Vermont 05201. The kids were on winter break, and then Monday came. I drove my kid to school, but I didn't see you there. I wondered if you were on vacation.
Tuesday came, still no sign of you there. No morning waves and quick smile as I drove by. Still I wondered where you were. The thought of you on vacation did not sit right, for some reason.
So Wednessday came, and still no sign of you. I planned on pulling up alongside your replacement to ask if you were ok, but I got the sad news from my daughter that afternoon. I didn't know you on a personal level, but in the four years I have known you, I always knew that when my kids went to school, you would be there for them. And I knew that you would always wave your hello to me, and flash me your smile~even while on your cell phone. Rest In Peace, you will be missed.

It is hard to find words that express the deep sorrow I feel for your loss. Diane was such a dear child and lovely woman but this is the worst thing that can happen to parents and you both were such great parents, she and Al were so sweet together working as Crossing Guards for all those years. Al, Roberta and Darren you were all so special to all of us that were Triangle family and our thoughts and prayers are with you. May God give you the strength you need to get thru this heartbreak.
