Joanie DuFresne Obituary

Joanie Maria DuFresne,of Bennington,VT,went into her Dad's loving arms on Monday,May 4,2020.She was preceded in death by her Dad in 2017.She never stopped loving him.She never stopped missing him.Joanie Maria was born in Milwaukee,WI,to two loving parents,Thomas and Rosa Slot,in 1956.She met her husband,William DuFresne,at Framingham Union Hospital,School of Nursing(where both were nursing students)in 1978 and they were married a year later in 1979 in Waltham,MA.Devoted to her husband, you could always find her at his side through thick and thin. She was his angel sent from above. But the greater joy that came into her life was when she became a mother to a beautiful and loving daughter,Bethany Mary DuFresne.Nothing gave Joanie Maria more joy than watching her daughter grow into the strong independent woman she is today.Joanie Maria was a 1975 graduate of Mary McClellan School of Practical Nursing of Cambridge,NY.She was in one of the last classes of this school before it closed its doors. She loved being a nurse. Maternity was her forte.Joanie Maria is survived by her husband,William. Her daughter,Bethany DuFresne of Germany. Her mother,Rosa Slot of Florida. Her beloved sister, Ann Ostrander(Bill)of New York. Her beloved brother,John Slot(Pauline)also of New York.Joanie Maria loved reading the bible and she and her husband would read a portion of it everyday. Her favorite verse was from Philippians, chapter 4,verse 4-5,"Rejoice always in the Lord;again,I will say, rejoice!Let your gentle spirit be known to all men.The Lord is near."Joanie Maria had that gentle spirit and then some. Her friends and loved ones, who she continually prayed for, have the honor of sharing her gentle spirit with others.Due to Joanie Maria's wishes services will be private.
