Joyce Nolin Obituary

Joyce W. Nolin 1932 - 2008 MANCHESTER Joyce W. Nolin, 76, passed away peacefully at her residence at Equinox Terrace on Sept. 4, 2008. She was born February 18, 1932, in Burlington, the daughter of Cornelius and Hildred Benedict Whalen of East Dorset. She attended Burr & Burton Academy, secretarial school, and University of Vermont. She married Dr. Regis P. Nolin on April 28, 1956, in Manchester, Vt. They resided in Burlington, where she was employed by Howard Bank, and immensely enjoyed her work. They moved to St. Johnsbury, Vt., where she was again employed by Howard Bank. Her last move was back to her family home in East Dorset, Vt., and she ultimately gained employment at Factory Point National Bank in Manchester as a Trust Department Administrator. Her Siamese cat, Simon, was her special companion for many of her last years. She always looked forward with much anticipation to her annual Labor Day week trip to Old Orchard Beach, Maine, where she spent at least a week in the company of her beloved sister, and brother-in-law, Sue and Charles Nolin and other relatives and friends. She leaves her daughter, Karen Nolin Govett, and her husband Ian, of Charlotte, Vt.,and her two grandsons, Devon and Dana Govett; her brother-in-law, Charles Nolin of St. Johnsbury, and her nieces Kelly Nolin of Northfield, Vt., and Kathy Diego and family of Essex, Vt. She was predeceased by her parents, and her husband, Regis in 2006. FUNERAL NOTICE: Service will be held Monday, Sept.8, 2008, at 10a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Manchester. Private burial will be held in St. Johnsbury on Tuesday, Sept. 9. Memorial contributions may be made to Manchester Rescue Squad, c/o Brewster Funeral Service, PO Box 885, Manchester, VT 05255.
