Leon A. Rosenthal 1916 - 2012 BENNINGTON Leon Aaron Rosenthal, 95, a resident of the Village at Fillmore Pond, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at his residence, following a brief illness. He was born in New York City on Sept. 4, 1916, son of Dr. Morris Rosentahl and Dr. Pauline (Sharfman) Rosenthal. Leon grew up in Jamaica, Queens, N.Y., when it was farmland, as well as in Croton, N.Y. Prior to moving to the Village of Fillmore Pond he enjoyed drawing, stained glass making, bird identification, his family and his pet dogs. While at Fillmore Pond he primarily enjoyed the countryside, music, books, and playing bridge, and continued to visit regularly with his family. He leaves his former wife, Judith Rosenthal of Sleepy Hollow, N.Y,; his children, Dr. Barbara Rosenthal of Williamstown, Mass., Dr. Elizabeth King of Brookline, Mass., and Dr. David Rosenthal of Palo Alto, Calif.; his grandchildren, Que-ena, Jhan, Naomi, Hannah, Molly, Ella, Emily and Margaret; a niece, a nephew and two great-nieces. One of the kindest and most interesting men I've ever met. I am writing this many years too late, but I will never forget him, continue to laugh at the things he said & did, and will always be better for having known him.
