Robert lived a long life and much of it was in public service as a teacher and as a fire man. It was the only teacher I had that could Chuck a piece of chalk at your head to get your attention with pinpoint accuracy. Remembering that Irish streak in him, if the line was too long at the pearly Gates I'm sure he found a spot and went over the wall. His wit and wisdom probably has made happen a happier place since his arrival. May God bless his soul and souls of his family. If I wasn't in South Carolina I would come to the funeral Stephen King

Bob was a legend at North Bennington Graded School. In about half of the 25 years I taught there, Bob and I would chat and laugh while he cleaned after the teaching day ended. He had a ready smile, hardy laugh and always a good story to share.

Robert's long life was given over to service and hard
work of which two notable examples are as an educator of elementary students at North Bennington Graded School for 29 years; a North Bennington fireman for more than 50 years. After
retiring from teaching he with his beloved wife Flossie worked as janitors at the North Bennington School for more than 25 years.
He possessed a ready laugh and wit often displayed in his stories. Those stories came from experiences
and a life spent attending to details and helping others.
The community of North Bennington misses him.
