Thomas Cocchiola Obituary

WOLCOTT, Conn. -- Thomas A. Cocchiola III, 46, of Mapleview Drive, died Monday, Feb. 13, at UConn Medical Center. He was the husband of Nancy (Livermore) Cocchiola.

Mr. Cocchiola was born Dec. 14, 1959, in Waterbury, son of Carol (Canfield) Cocchiola and the late Thomas Cocchiola. Prior to his illness, he had been employed as a house manager for Hillside Acres. His passion was singing, and sang with many local bands, including Backstreet and Dynasty. He enjoyed restoring his 1962 Thunderbird and won several ribbons, including a first place ribbon with the New Jersey Thunderbird Show. He was known for his good humor. He attended St. Pius X Church.

Besides his wife of 15 years, and his mother of North Bennington, Vt., he is survived by three sons, Thomas L., Tyler, and Brian Cocchiola, all of Wolcott; two brothers, Raymond Cocchiola of Waterbury, and Rob Canfield of Bennington, Vt.; a sister, Lena Collette of Bennington; a half brother, Christopher Cocchiola of Waterbury; two stepbrothers, David Everett of Wisconsin, and Eddie Everett of New Mexico; and a stepsister, Lisa DiGiuseppe of Harwinton.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 8:45 from the Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott, to St. Pius X Church for a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at the Queen of Peace Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. A candlelight service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
