Michael Angelo Cocchiola

Michael A. Cocchiola, Sr., age 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Clotilda (Lombard) Cocchiola.

Born on June 22, 1929, in Waterbury, Michael was the son of the late Joseph and Maria (Deli Veneri) Cocchiola. He held an Associate's Degree from Mattatuck College and worked as a purchaser for Pratt and Whitney Aerospace Company. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War. Social and easy going, Michael got along with everyone. He enjoyed trips to the casino and was happiest when spending time with his family and friends.

Michael is survived by his sons Michael Cocchiola, Jr of New Smyrna Beach, FL and David Cocchiola and his wife Barbara of Prospect. He also leaves eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and his godson Bobby Cocchiola of Myrtle Beach, SC. He was predeceased by Clotilda, his beloved wife of 62 years, his daughter Donna M. Cocchiola, and his brother Robert Cocchiola.

Michael's funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury. Calling hours will be held from 9:00-10:30am. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
