Alphonse Simon Obituary

ADAMS -- Alphonse G. Simon, 86, of 732 NE Way, Fort Lauder-dale, Fla., a formerly of Adams, died Saturday at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale.

Born in Adams on Nov. 25, 1917, son of John and Abigail Mourad Simon, he graduated from the former Adams High School. He moved to Fort Lauderdale 35 years ago.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Simon was self-employed in the real estate business in Florida until retiring several years ago.

He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Fort Lauderdale and, while in Adams, of St. Thomas' Church.

He leaves his wife, the former Noha Mourad; two sons, John Simon of Fort Lauderdale and Gerard Simon of Boston; a daughter, Diane Downing of Fort Lauderdale; two brothers, Albert Simon of Fort Lauderdale and Phillip Simon of Boston, and a sister, Agnes Simon of Florida.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Alphonse G. Simon, who died April 17, 2004, will be celebrated tomorrow, April 22, at 10 in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Fort Lauderdale. A graveside committal service will be held Thursday, April 29, at 1 in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Relatives and friends are invited. AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, Adams, is in charge of local arrangements.

being an old pal of alphonse i offer my sincere sympathy to his family.please remember me to albert and phillip and stacy. i recall visiting alphonse in the hospital in bostonclose to 60 years ago. he lived a long life and a great guy.,sincerely, art fox
