Christina Huff Obituary

Christina L. Huff 1965 - 2011 ADAMS Christina L. Melville Huff, 46, of 61 Summer Street, Adams, died suddenly Friday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Christina was born on April 16, 1965, in Providence, R.I., daughter of the late Eugene P. Melville Sr. and Jean Dinsmore Melville. She attended Cheshire Elementary School and was a 1983 graduate of Hoosac Valley High School. She was a 1987 graduate of North Adams State College receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in history. At the time of her death she was a full time library assistant at Berkshire Community College and a part time library assistant at Freel Library at MCLA, North Adams. She also at one time had worked for Plaines Bike and Ski Shop, Donovan and O'Connor Law Firm, and Berkshire Bank. She was a communicant of The Parish Church of Pope John Paul the Great in Adams where she served as a lector and a volunteer in its meal ministry. Christina helped organize the Waterford Table at the St. Thomas Bazaar for many years. She enjoyed reading and watching sports on television and movies. She is survived by her husband, William E. Huff, whom she married Jan. 1, 2000, in Cheshire; four sisters, Roberta M. Urquhart and her husband Michael of Cheshire, Pamela Melville and her fiance Peter E. Stelling of Lenox and Canaan, N.Y., Paula I. Melville of Adams and Marcia P. Guy and her husband Peter of New Bedford. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Lisa Melville, on Sept. 12, 1969. Christina was a very generous, kind and loving person who touched many lives. Her quick wit and funny euphemisms brought much laughter and joy to those around her. Her positive energy and attitude endeared her to everyone who was lucky enough to know her. She was a beloved wife, adored sister and faithful friend who will be dearly missed. The world lost one of its brightest stars the day Christina passed. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Christina Melville Huff will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at The Parish Church of Pope John Paul the Great, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. My deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to Tina's family, husband and friends. Unfortunately, I had lost touch with Tina after high school. However, there was a time or two over the years when a memory of her would put a smile on my face. A true testament to how her wit, charm, wisdom and laughter can remain. May you be blessed and comforted with many such memories now and for countless years to come. God Bless.

My thoughts and prayers are with Tina's husband, family and friends. I haven't seen her since high school but her friends that I know and her friends that have written on this site all have spoken of the Tina I remember from many, many years ago. I am happy to know that she stayed the same from youth to adulthood with her wit, smile and laughter and that all of us that knew her closely or not were touched enough to remember her so fondly. Rest in peace Tina.

To The Huff & Melville Families,

We were saddened to learn of Tina's passing. Spending time with Tina in the kitchen for Meals Ministry was always fun and filled with laughter. I especially enjoyed listening to her read at Mass, her voice was so calming, so true and emotional she made you feel. We also lost a friendly competitor at Wednesday Night PNA Trivia. She will be missed by so very many people whom she touched. God be with you all.

To Bill & the Melville family,
It is truly hard to understand why someone who is full of wit, humor, compassion, and good cheer has to depart so soon.
I will miss our talks about sports, food, genealogy, and yes of course, having a pint of good beer.
You are all in my prayers and thoughts. She will be deeply missed but not forgotten.

My deepest sympathy to Christinas husband and family. I will miss our morning chit chats about our favorite t.v. shows. She always had the scoop on what show was going to be canceled and what ones were going to make a come back. :) She will always have a sweet memory in my heart as I am sure in many others as well. Her kindness, smile and generous nature touched so many.

Dear Bill and Family:

I am shocked at the sudden death of our beloved Tina. She was one of the most loving persons I have ever met.

She was a very bright, charming, delightful presence in my life. She was a breath of fresh air whenever we gathered to break bread to talk about the things of God!

I shall always remember her mystical eyes, sparkling personality, quick wit, seductive voice, and endearing ways.

Tina made everyone she encountered feel very special. She made it a point to bring people closer to God, the source and strength of her life.

I shall be forever grateful for all that she did to help me to become a better person and a more effective preacher, teacher, and spiritual director.

I pray that Tina will enjoy eternal happiness and peace in heaven with God and the communion of saints.

With Much Love and Affection,

Steve & Linda (Robinson) Bondini

To Christina's family, I worked with Christina at Berkshire County Savings Bank when she was just out of college. Her humor was most entertaining and I always tried to work at the teller window next to her so I could keep laughing all day. She would remember bank customers from her days working at Big Y and beckon them to her teller window by calling out their grocery rewards card number. The customers loved it and we were amazed by her incredible memory! 20 years later our paths crossed and we had dinner. Even though she had cut her long hair, she had the same wit as ever and we laughed through the entire meal. She will be greatly missed. My heartfelt sympathies go to all her family.

To the Melville/Huff Families:
I am a colleague of Christina's at BCC. I always had the best time with Christina. We didn't see each other daily, but would bump into each other in the cafe. Each time we did our conversations always picked up where they left off. In between were some great e-mails and phone calls. I will miss her quick wit and laughter and I will miss seeing her smiling face. I feel blessed to have known her.

Surely you're still with us,
recalling good times past.
That impish grin and ready laugh
and razor wit, so fast.

Surely we can see you,
that sparkle in your eye.
Joining us while looking back,
you looking from on high.

You surely made an impact,
for one who's left so early.
I know your wish right now would be
to please not call you "Shirley".
