Doris M. Roberts

NORTH ADAMS -- Doris Margaret Roberts, 84, of 43 Clarence Road, Bellingham, a former North Adams resident, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at Sunbridge Rehabilitation Center in Milford.

Born in Stamford, Vt., on May 26, 1923, daughter of Oliver and Leonie Rougeau Rondeau, she attended schools there.

Mrs. Roberts was employed by Sprague Electric Co. for many years, retiring in 1983. She moved to Bellingham in 1986.

She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church and a fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Her husband, Leonard Roberts, whom she married Aug. 4, 1945, died Sept. 6, 1981.

She leaves two daughters, Caroline Walden, with whom she resided, and Jacqueline Copeland, also of Bellingham; two brothers, Wilford Rondeau of Readsboro, Vt., and Daniel Rondeau of Stamford; three sisters, Cecile Pratt of Stamford, and Theresa Dix and Rachel Tatro, both of Clarksburg; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren;

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Doris M. Roberts, who died Sunday, June 24, 2007, will be conducted Thursday at 10:15 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams, with a funeral Mass at 11 at St. Francis' Church. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home. She also leaves a son-in-law, Michael Walden; three grandchildren, Michael Walden of Lancaster; Dawn Marie Solod of Millbury and Jon Walden of Bellingham; five great-grandchildren, Emily, Grace, Sam, Kylie and Luci; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Elise Copeland, a son-in-law, Charles, and seven brothers and a sister, Ernest, Olivier, Francis, Felix, Thomas, Joseph, Roger and Olive Rondeau.
