Edward Kellar Obituary

Edward P. Kellar DUXBURY Edward P. Kellar Age 83, died on Oct. 30, 2008. Born in Adams, he was the son of the late Peter and Antonia Kellar. Ed was graduated from Adams High School in 1943. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Wharton School in 1955, following which he joined the accounting and finance department of The Gillette Company in Boston. While with Gillette, he earned his M.B.A. from Northeastern University in 1960. In 1966, Ed and his family were transferred to England, where he was in Administration at the United Kingdom Headquarters of Gillette. He rose to the position of Corporate Finance Vice President. Ed retired from Gillette in 1983 and then joined Beth Israel Hospital as the Vice President of Information Resource Management. He later joined Craft World, Inc. in New Windsor, Maryland as CEO and President until his final retirement. Ed was a member of the Duxbury Yacht Club where he enjoyed playing golf. His favorite past time though was his love of books. A devoted family man, Ed leaves his wife of 53 years, Doris Parker, his children, Elizabeth, Robert and his wife Kim, Joan and her husband Matthew, Peter, and David and his wife Emily. Ed was also a loving grandfather to Emma, Edward and Ross. Ed leaves a sister, Frances Lamb and her husband Fred. He was the brother of the late Ilene Wol. He leaves two nephews, Gerald and Thomas Lamb. FUNERAL NOTICE: Burial at Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury will be private. Friends are invited to celebrate his life at his home on Saturday, November 8th from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of the following: Duxbury Free Library, 77 Alden Street, Duxbury, Massachusetts 02332.
