Edwin John Sutton

1964 - 2023

Edwin John Sutton, 59, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 13, 2023.

He was born in Pittsfield, MA on August 18, 1964. He was the son of Gary Sutton and Linda (Brewster) Sutton. Ed was educated in Pittsfield schools. He later continued his education earning his Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and his Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

He was passionate about his work and helping people who were going through hard times. He was an integral part of the work done at the Brien Center for 14 years. Edwin was a kind person with a gentle heart. He did not judge, instead, he listened. He loved his family fiercely and accepted everyone for who they were.

Ed married Karen Chague, the love of his life, on September 15, 1990. They were married for 32 years sharing five beautiful daughters before her passing in 2022.

From an early age, Ed enjoyed sports, especially watching the New York Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox with his Dad. He was a die hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and would wave his 'Terrible Towel' in the air every Sunday, with pride!

Besides his wife Karen, he was predeceased by his Dad Gary, his Aunt Joanie DiCroce, his sister-in-law Lisa MacDowell and his nephew Robbie MacDowell.

He will be deeply missed by his surviving family members including his Mother Linda, his sisters Colene 'Coco' Rufo, Lorene Sharron and Elizabeth 'Boof' Greto (Vic), his daughters Ocean Sutton, Skye Breault (Jared), Brittany 'Breeze' Breault, Rose Dawson and Angel Breault. His grandchildren, Armoni Sutton-Davies, Annaleis Thompson, Edwin Sutton, Leighsa Sutton and Jabrielle Perry whom were his pride and joy! They absolutely adored their Pop-Pop!

Eddie had many other significant family members including many nieces and nephews. He had a special bond with his nephew Jason MacDowell (Nicole; Silas), whom he loved like a son. He also has many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who he loved immensely.

Calling hours will be Friday, October 27, 2023 from 1:00PM - 2:00PM at the First Baptist Church of Pittsfield, 88 South Street. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00PM with a reception to follow in the Church Assembly Hall.

His personal recovery and the recovery of others was something very close to his heart. He was very involved in the local NA, where he held the position of Treasurer for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Narcotic Anonyms @ NA.org
