Elsie Cote Obituary

Elsie Mary (Sorel) Andrews Cote, 86, of 39 Bracewell Ave., North Adams, died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at the North Adams Commons, 175 Franklin St. Death followed a brief illness.
Born in North Adams on June 16, 1916, she was the daughter of Eli J. and Mary (Chalifoux) Sorel. She attended city schools including the former Notre Dame Parochial School.
She was employed with the former Sprague Electric Co., North Adams, for more than 25 years, until her retirement in 1970. Following her retirement, she traveled and organized travel tours.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and a former communicant of Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church, North Adams.
She was a member and past president of the Senior Citizens Club and LeCercle Francais and was a member of Ashland Park Tenants Association, Sprague Quarter Century Club, Sprague Retirees and TOPS, all in North Adams.
Her husband, Normand Cote, whom she married Dec. 14, 1968, died Aug. 13, 1975. Her first husband was Leo J. Andrews, whom she married on April 26, 1934. He died May 14, 1964.
She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas A. and Roma (Lewis) Andrews of North Adams; a daughter and son-in-law, Ronald and Barbara (Andrews) Sage of North Adams, with whom she resided; another daughter-in-law, Delia (Lewis) Andrews of North Adams; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A son, Leo J. Andrews Jr.; a sister, Dorothy R. Parker; and a brother, Robert Sorel, are deceased.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Elsie Cote will take place Tuesday, April 29, 10:15 a.m., at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. A funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. in Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church, East Main Street, North Adams. Burial in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, will follow.
Calling hours are Monday, April 28, 4-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to the North Adams Ambulance or Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home.
