Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 8, 1949, son of Andrew Wowk of Pittsfield and the late Edith M. Benson Wowk, he was a 1969 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
During his high school years, Mr. Wowk was employed at Ben Franklin Printing, the former Adams Super Market and as a driver for The Berkshire Eagle. He became disabled when he was 20 years old.
He was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, and enjoyed watching Babe Ruth and Little League baseball games, bowling and playing basketball.
Besides his father, he leaves two sisters, Mary Ellen Newport of North Adams and Judy Trembly of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Gary A. Wowk, who died Oct. 29, 2003, will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Pittsfield Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Pittsfield Little League in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
