Gertrude Quail Obituary

Gertrude "Trudy" A. Fitch Quail 1935-2012 Gertrude "Trudy" A. (Fitch) Quail, of Enfield and Stafford Springs, passed into eternal rest on Thursday June 7, 2012 with loved ones at her side. She was the beloved wife of 54 years to the late Thomas J. Quail, Jr. Trudy was born on March 12, 1935 in Pittsfield, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Elizabeth (Stanford) Fitch and had resided in Enfield for 43 years and in Stafford Springs for 15 years. Prior to retiring Trudy was employed with Hallmark Cards for 25 years. In her leisure time she enjoyed playing cards, taking trips to the casinos, visiting family and friends in the Berkshires, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially the grand and great grandchildren. Trudy is survived by her six loving children; Thomas J. Quail, III and his wife Kathleen of Enfield, Theresa J. McInnis of Plainfield, Linda L. Quail of Enfield, Timothy J. Quail of Pomfret, Joel C. Quail and his wife Maryann of Enfield and Kathrine M. Ciborowski of Ware, Mass., her 20 beloved grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; William Fitch and his wife Alice of Dalton, Jackie Fitch & his wife Patricia of Hinsdale, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was also predeceased by a sister Catherine Fitch. Trudy's family would like to extend grateful appreciation to the Home and Community Health Services, Hospice Program and especially her nurse Pat Ripish, RN for the kind and compassionate care given to Trudy and all their support. FUNERAL NOTICE: Relatives and friends may gather with Trudy's family during calling hours on Monday June 11, 2012 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield followed by a Service of Remembrance at 7 p.m. with Rich Furey officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Home & Community Health Services, Hospice Program. P.O. Box 1199, Enfield, CT 06083-1199. Our condolences to Trudy's family, I was brought up in Hinsdale, & Trudy, Sally Fox & I had a lot of great times in our little town.
Although I hadn't seen her for years, have thought of her & Sally often.To her children,grandchildren, great grand children, Billy & Jackie & their wifes, & all the rest of the families.we know you will keep her in your hearts forever.God Bless You All.
