Henry Melle Obituary

Henry W. Melle 1926 - 2008 NORTH ADAMS Henry William Melle, 82, of 84 West Main St. died Friday, July 11, 2008, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 17, 1926, a son of Albert H. and Lula Kelleyhouse Melle, he attended schools in Pittsfield. Until his retirement in 2001, Mr. Melle was a self-employed brick and stone mason whose craftsmanship is represented throughout Berkshire County. Previously, he had been employed with several area contractors. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox. His wife, the former Robertine St. Onge, whom he married Sept. 4, 1943 at Notre Dame Church in Pittsfield, died March 16, 2007. He leaves two sons, Robert H. Melle of Amherst, N.H., and Richard P. Melle of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; one daughter, Patricia Emerson of New York, N.Y; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Dallmeyer of Worcester; two brothers, Albert Melle of Lenox, and William D. Melle of Ormond Beach, Fla., and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Joan Murphy Cohen; by another sister, Erma Clark, and by a grandson, Mark Melle. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Henry W. Melle are private, and burial will be at the convenience of the family. The FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247, is in charge of arrangements.

I had the distinct pleasure of living next door to mr Melle.He was a decent man and will be sadly missed.Heand his wife were wonderful people.
