Jane Goold Obituary

PITTSFIELD -- Jane Agnes Goold, 88, of Springfield, formerly of Pittsfield, died Wednesday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Born in Pittsfield on April 8, 1918, daughter of John L. and Mary E. Burke Gray, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. She had resided in Springfield for the past 60 years.

She and her husband, Chauncey, were the owners and operators of the former Springfield Menu Service and Bridal Stationers for 40 years. She retired in 1985.

Mrs. Goold was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Springfield.

She and her husband, Chauncey W. Goold, were married Dec. 26, 1945. He predeceased her in 1983.

She leaves a son, John W. Goold of Springfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Jane Agnes Goold died Wednesday, May 10, 2006. Family and friends are invited for a period of visitation on Friday, May 12, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at BYRON FUNERAL HOME, 1858 Allen St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104, or to Meals on Wheels, 1160 Dickinson St., Springfield, MA 01108. She also leaves a daughter-in-law, Kristin; a niece, Pamela Young of Dalton; two nephews, Keith McCarty of Delmar, N.Y., and Christopher McCarty of Pittsfield, and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
