Jeffrey Lyon Obituary
Born in Pittsfield on July 23, 1986 to Jeffrey P. and Katherine Northrup Lyon, he was a 2005 graduate of Taconic High School and had attended Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor, Maine, concentrating on Construction.
He was a self-employed building contractor and was also a member of the Local Carpenters Union.
Not only was Jeffrey highly skilled in home construction, he was also a gifted athlete. Jeffrey was one of the top ski racers in the county. He truly loved everything outdoors, from building tree forts to all watersports on Pontoosuc Lake.
Jeffrey leaves the mother of his children, Brittany Slater, his sons, Brennan, age 6, and Liam, age 2. And his sister Jennifer and her children Jett and Lily.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Church, officiated by Rev. Peter A. Gregory. The calling hours will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to his children, Brennan and Liam, in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA, 01201.

THE TEARS ARE STILL VERY FRESH. I THINK OF JEFFERY OFTEN. I TRULY MISS HIM AND WISH THINGS COULD BE DIFFERENT. OUR WORLD LOST A ONE OF A KIND GUY THAT ALWAYS HAD A SMILE ON HIS FACE AND WAS DETERMINED TO DO WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE TO ACCOMPLISH THE GOAL AT HAND. We shared a lot of great fun as children. Some of my earliest memories are with Jeffrey and Jenny at Becket Beach, Otis Ridge, and Bousquet. They were like my siblings. Even as a child, Jeff was a daredevil, who would always push us to have bigger adventures. I remember riding our bikes and getting caught in snowstorms together. I'm truly saddened to learn he is gone, and send love to the family, who in my earliest years, was akin to my own.

Jeff,Kathy,Jen and family I am so sorry for the loss of this wonderful young man. I was forever marked by him after chasing him around the Tamarack Lounge an getting a rug burn after he made a very sharp turn. The joy he brought with him everywhere shows in all the pictures of him. I got to see him again this winter when her was teaching his son to ski this Winter. We will miss seeing him on the slopes.

I did tenting with Jeff for a few years, and good god was the kid hilarious. Hard worker,quick witted, and fun to be around. We had a great time, and upset to see he passed. Much love young Jeffrey!
