Joyce Birtha Houle 1963-2008 PITTSFIELD - Joyce Birtha Houle, 45, of 103 Lincoln Street, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Haverhill, Jan. 15, 1963, a daughter of Dennis J. Houle, Jr. and the late Florence Shaw Houle, she attended schools in Plaistow, New Hampshire, and earned her General Equivalency Diploma. Joyce was generous of spirit, community-minded, and enjoyed helping people. Her deep love for her children and an unwavering faith were the guiding force in her life. Besides her father of St. Petersburg, Fla, she leaves two sons, Ralph E. Johnson of Pittsfield, Ma, and Charles Wilbur of Laconia, N.H.; four daughters, Laura Gusoski of Manchester, N.H.; Shahana Cruz of Largo, Fla; Chelsea and Jessica Houle of Ma; two brothers, Dennis Houle of Haverhill, and her twin brother, John A. Houle of Barrington, N.H.; five sisters, Lona Marie Houle of Black River, N.Y., Vivian Demko of Ridge, M.D., Esther Watts of Clearwater, Fl, Heidi Morgan of Clements, M.D., Samantha Senter of Plaistow, N.H., Valisa Baker of Parsonsfield, M.E., and many stepbrothers and stepsisters. FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service for Joyce Birtha Houle, who died Feb. 6, will be Saturday, Feb. 9, at 11:00 a.m., at Locust Grove Cemetery in Merrimac, Massachusetts. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Miss Houle may be made to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 0120l.]]>

i was so sad to hear about joyce's death.i didnt know joyce for very long but, what i did know of her greatly touched my heart and had an impact on my life.she was a strong woman who endured and overcame so very much i remember sitting with her at a church event sharing our life stories and she helped me to realize so much we talked about broken relationships and she spoke of her children whom she loved so much. joyce had a very good heart and gave good advice.i have a kidney disease and she even obtained some helpful advice for me ..i know joyce is with the good lord. you will be greatly missed my friend....alison oliver-white

I will always have the good memories of the time Joyce lived with me 22 years ago we had lots of fun and lots of laughs.I talked to her on the phone 6 months ago after 22 years it was so good to hear from her. She was always in my thoughts she will be missed by all who loved her.

I will always be proud to tell people I am your twin. I feel you are happy I don't know how but I just do. My gift from you is to from here on try to find time to keep in touch with loved ones. I wish I could turn back time and have realized I have two families.I will always feel a twin part of you I love and miss you!
