She was born in Bryn, Lancashire, England, on Jan. 31, 1913.
Mrs. Preston worked for Harbens Silk Mills and the Royal Ordnance Factory in England before emigrating to Pittsfield in April 1949 with her husband, Arthur Stanley Preston, and their son, J. David Preston.
When Mr. Preston retired in 1973, the family moved shortly thereafter to 2 Linden Road, Falmouth, where she lived until ill health necessitated her moving into the nursing home.
She was a member of the Congregational Church in Pittsfield and Falmouth.
Her husband died Dec. 20, 2002.
Besides her son, of Berkshire, England, she leaves a sister, Grace Willbrant of Pittsfield, and a granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Louisa Preston, who died July 23, 2003, will be Friday, Aug. 22, at 2 at Falmouth Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, her wishes were for donations in her memory to be made to First Congregational Church, 68 Main St., Falmouth, MA 02540. Burial will be in Pittsfield Cemetery alongside her beloved husband on Saturday, Aug. 23, at noon. Arrangements by CHAPMAN, COLE & GLEASON FUNERAL HOME, Falmouth.
