Michael Button Obituary
Michael W. Button passed away on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, after a well fought battle with cancer. He was 65 years old.Mike started his business, Button Plumbing, with his wife, Julie, in June 1985, and was known for his plumbing expertise. He was born in North Adams, Mass., to his parents, William and Corinne Button, who have predeceased him. Mike was also preceded in death by his brother, Guy Button. Those who survive him include his wife and children, Peter (Lisa) of Pittsburgh, Pa., Paul (Jenny) of Delaware, Ohio, and Chrissy (Eric) Meyer of Parkersburg; his beloved grandchildren, Quin, Tim, Rachel, Sam, Joe, Abby, Sara, Jimmy, Livi, Sophie and John-John. Also surviving are Mike's sister, Gigi (Peter) Swift of Naples, Fla.; their children, Jennifer and Karen; his sister-in-law, Maggie and her son, David Button; two brothers-in-law, Tim (Josie) Merrell of Tennessee and Kelsey (Inge) of Germany; cousins and many friends. Michael was an active member of St. Ambrose Church, the St. Ambrose Men's Club, and the Knights of Columbus. He will be missed by many. FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 4-8 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home in Belpre. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Ambrose Church, School House Road, Little Hocking, on Friday morning at 11 a.m. An open luncheon will follow the Mass. A private burial will be set at a later date. Contributions may be made to St. Ambrose Church, the American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
