NORTHAMPTON Michael J. Warrington, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015 in Greenfield from an accidental drug overdose. He was a talented musician, wonderful son /brother, great friend to many and a UMass Amherst alumnus. With the unwavering support of family and friends, Michael had most recently been engaged in an amazing recovery program with many positive results. In his memory, please consider donating personal time/effort towards advancing effective treatment and accessible recovery options for the disease of addiction. A picnic is being planned to celebrate Mike's life. Donations in his memory may be made to the Beacon House, 57 Beacon St., Greenfield, MA. The Ahearn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements

It has been some time since your passing Mike but your memory lives on in many various places. Just one of them is in the many songs to that you played better than the original artist. As just such an awesome person, I'm sure you have had enough time to put together an out of this world ensemble; I only hope Layne is singing for you

Mike, your time out here in Greenfield definitely was well spent. You've had a huge impact on myself as well as many others in recovery out here! Your presence was just so sweet. You had such a kind warm hearted soul that I will never ever forget! I'll miss you and you'll always remain in my thoughts and prayers. Mike, Mike, Mike.... OMG. I don't know Where to even begin! We talked everyday, well tried!! I talked to you that morning! We had such a strong connection and you were the other half of my brain! You always made my day when I'd get random texts or calls from you because usually it was me calling you daily to know you were OK.. when I couldn't get a Hold of you I knew in the pit of my stomach... Why. I told you everyday how proud you should be for doing what you were doing!! Most people can't even understand what we go through and what you and I have been through! We've seen each other at our best and definitely our worst!! i love you so much kid! You know you will be my next tattoo lol!! I'm just in shock... I will never forgot the daily phone calls even from chl! You will be missed terribly! I will never forget you, you had such a free flying soul... so fly high sweetie!! I Hope your finally truly happy and you will suffer from this damn disease no longer!! Your face is still on my speed dial so I will see you still... but won't hear your badfish ringtone! Learning of Mike's passing is so heartbreaking. To his family and friends, I am so very sorry for your loss. I am Praying the Lord's comfort upon you. Mike and I went to PHS together and graduated in 1991. We were nominated as the "class clowns", I will always remember him as a joyful, optimist musical friend. I was stunned to hear of Mike's passing and send my deepest condolences to his family and close friends. He will be missed deeply and I will pray for him and his loved ones.

My brother, mikey, thank you for the times we had together. You were always larger than life and someone I was so proud of. While I am utterly heartbroken you are gone, I am finding peace in knowing you don't hurt anymore. No more struggles, no more battles lost. You are home now with dad. I'm devestated that my children will grow up never knowing their super cool uncle mike, but I take comfort in knowing you will always be watching over us. I love you so much. See you on the other side.

It's been over 10 yrs since I've seen you. Thru technology I've been able to catch brief glimpses of whats going in your life. Your passing has truly saddened me. I still reflect occasionally of the months spent on the road with our band in our smelly van which had broken down in some of the most beautiful places, which I would have never imagined to travel to had it not been for the music we played together. Thousands of miles we driven throughout this country and the great times are too numerous to list but are so imbedded in memory which I will never forget. Some of my fondest ones of us are the Idaho to Alaska drive in 3 days non-stop thru Canada. Then the return trip also in 3 days also non-stop. Seeing the first time for me a glacier, bears, moose, wolves in the wild along the Al-Can Hwy. Playing the Frenchman's Club gigs in New Orleans at ungodly hours. Spencer getting in trouble down there (ugggh :)) and our money stolen from our motel room. We definitely were not a boring band outside the stage. Those CDs (imagine that? CDs?) we shared........Steely Dan tunes we hummed (which probably drove Ryan crazy since he hated that band), and enjoyed. I could go on and on. I am hoping now that you can find some peace Mikey. You will be truly missed. I am so glad to have known you and that you will always be a part of my life.
