To the Mele Family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of Nick.
We consider ourselves very fortunate to have been able to call Nick both a boss and a friend. He was a knowledgeable and dedicated public servant who treated everyone fairly and with respect. But, most of all, he was a fine man, a loving husband and father, and a good friend. He will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.

To the Mele Family

I would like to extend my sincere condolences to you on the loss of Nick. I had the pleasure of interacting with him on many occasions during my time at DET. He was one of the nicest individuals that I ever met. His zest for life was forever present. He will be missed by not only me but by a multitude of people that he came in contact with over the years. His calm demeanor was one attribute that stood out from the first time you met him. I certainly will miss that diminutive smiling face.

Dear Bill, Kathy and Mary,
My sincere condolences to you and the family. I had the privilege to know and work with your dad. He was truly a devoted husband, father, grandfather and public servant. He never forgot who he was. Even though we worked in different parts of the state I always treasured our opportunities to talk that enabled us to get things done. I was fortunate to talk to him earlier this year. I am glad that he is now at peace and can go home and live with his beloved Joan. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Bill and all the members of the Mele Family:
My prayers go out to all of you. It’s never a good time to lose a family member and can be more difficult during the holidays; when families are celebrating the birth of Christ. The birth of Christ has allowed us to enter the kingdom of Heaven and Nick has taken his place there with the love ones who have passed on before him. And eternal peace is his reward for a job well done on earth.

Nick is another that still had so much to give. We are not to know why people like Nick are taken from us. My wife Marlene was in that category and left me behind to do the best I can for people. Nick will sorely be missed.
