Richard Mears Obituary

LENOX- Richard P. Mears, 86, of Pittsfield Rd., passed away on November 18, 2016 at Mt. Carmel Care Center in Lenox.

Born in Pittsfield, MA the son of Cyril and Grace Pearce Mears, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and graduated from the Hamden College of Pharmacy in Williamsett, MA.

Following his graduation, he served in the US Army during the Korean War.

He owned and operated the former Dalton Pharmacy in Dalton.

He was a member of the Mystic Lodge of Masons, Civitian Club of Pittsfield, the Dalton American Legion Post 155 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9566 in Dalton.

Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, playing organ and ballroom dancing.

He was a member of the former Grace Episcopal Church in Dalton.

Richard is survived by his wife Beverly Foster, sons Richard A. Mears and his wife Kelley and their children Heather and Jennifer, Douglas Mears and his sons Matthew and Brian and great grandson Landyn, Darren Mears and his wife Luanne of Hinsdale, MA and their sons Nicholas (Kelly) and Kevin and great grandsons Brandon and Zachary, a brother Warren Mears and his wife Barbara and sister Caroline LeBlanc. He was predeceased by a great grandson Travis.

FUNERAL NOTICE: In accordance with his wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Following cremation burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Dalton Ambulance Fund or charity of the donor's choice in care of the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
