Kay Joanne Mears passed away in Daytona Beach, Florida. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, she spent most of her life in Central Florida, where she raised a family and built lasting friendships. She was an artist, author, photographer, published songwriter, nature lover, and even flew airplanes in her younger years. In her later years, she enjoyed living in the Georgia mountains, feeding deer and turkey at her cabin, photographing birds and landscapes and creating amazing meals and experiences during the holidays for her family and friends. She is survived by her mother, Annette, brother Craig and his family, her son William and his family, her son Cole and his family, her stepson Michael and his family, and nieces and nephews that will miss her dearly.
In honor of her life, please consider contributions in her name to The Alzheimer’s Association.
Celebrations of life will be announced in the near future.
