Martha Mears, age 85, of Callahan, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Martha was born on January 21, 1941, to the late George L. and Louise C. Tyler. She dedicated over 30 years of her life to Southern Bell, where she built lifelong friendships and was valued for her warm spirit and genuine kindness.
Known for her loving heart, generous nature, and quick sense of humor, Martha lived life with joy. She had a passion for dancing, loved playing bingo, and cherished every opportunity to socialize with her friends. She was an active and beloved member of the Nassau Council on Aging at the Hilliard location, where she shared laughter, friendship, and community with many. Above all, Martha treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose smiles brightened her days.
Martha was preceded in death by her son, Burton Mears, Jr.; her sisters, Patricia “Patsy” Ann Tyler and Linda Tyler McVea; and her brother, William Albert Tyler.
She is survived by her daughters and their families: Amanda Robertson and her husband, Craig, and Michelle Osborne; her five grandchildren, Angela Osborne, Jenna Mears, Nolan Robertson, Brody Robertson, and Leila Robertson; her two great-grandchildren, Shelby Mears and Gabriel Mears; her sisters, Doris Tyler Swann and Deborah Tyler Roberson; and several nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.
Martha’s generous heart, loving spirit, and joyful laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Central Time on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Adams Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Keiser officiating. The family wishes to thank everyone who has offered comfort, prayers, and support during this time.
Martha’s life was a testament to love, friendship, and kindness — a legacy that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
