Priscilla Jeter, cherished mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, at the age of 82, in her hometown of Marianna, Florida. Born on May 29, 1943, Priscilla was a vibrant spirit who dedicated her life to the art of cooking, comfort, and family.
In her career as a cook, she brought joy to many through her delicious meals, delighting friends and relatives alike. A true culinary enthusiast, she poured her heart into every dish she prepared, often sharing her talents with those she loved. Beyond the kitchen, Priscilla had a passion for spending quality time with her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply. She always prioritized their happiness, and her home was a haven of laughter and love.
Priscilla had a creative soul and cherished dreams, one of which was to write her own book, reflecting her rich life experiences and the fond memories she created with her family. Her interests extended to thrifting and solving crossword puzzles, activities that not only entertained her but also kept her vibrant and engaged with the world around her.
She is survived by her loving son, Thomas Jeter; her daughters, Michelle Lawson and husband Melvin, Rose Kiel and husband Wallie, and Melanie Malfe and husband John; her sister, Ann Wadsworth; her grandchildren, Regina, Roland, Mindy, Katelyn, and Brandon; as well as twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom will remember her with great affection and respect.
Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dicie Mae Herring; her sons, Frederick and Alvin Whitehead; her brothers, Houston Herring and James Lord; her sisters, Betty Edwards, Francis Cesaroni, Laverne Sanders, and Denise Bradford; and her grandson, Richard Whitehead. Her legacy of love and warmth will continue to inspire all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A memorial service in honor of Priscilla will take place at 10:00 AM February 26, 2026 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel. All family and friends are invited to celebrate her remarkable life. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered for the love she shared and the lives she touched.
