Robert Chapman Obituary

Our beloved Bob passed away suddenly at home on his 60th birthday, after a brief illness. Bob was born on December 26th, 1963 in Pittsfield and grew up in Dalton. He attended Wahconah High School where he met many of his lifelong friends.

The best part of his life was his son, Robert "Bobby" the Third. Together they conquered everything, not just as father and son, but as best friends, always seeking the next new adventure. To see them together was to witness unconditional love and true devotion.

Bob was the kind of guy that was easy to talk to and fun to be around. He was always there to lend a hand, and was truly one of the greatest, most selfless, guys around. He loved riding his Harley Davidson, "Ruby" and spending long sunny days on his pontoon boat with family and friends.

Bob was a truck driver at Sweatland Oil for over 25 years and, at the time of his death, he was employed at Casella Waste Management.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Bob, Sr. and mother Virginia "Ginny" Chapman.

He is survived by his son Robert (Nikki), his precious granddaughter Charlotte Brooke, his sister Robin (John) Linnemanstons, and his treasured younger sister Marcie-Jo (John) Gingras, He was adored by nephews John (Kirsten) Linnemanstons, Rick (Haley) Cimini, Tom (Lauren) Cimini, and nieces Katherine (Derek) Jaeger, and Elizabeth Linnemanstons. Bob had dozens of close friends and he will be deeply missed by all.

Bob was a great friend of my husband Kim Martin. We spent many times together. He was my smoking buddy. I'll remember him for his kindness and helpful way.

Robin and Marci,
So sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. So many memories of us hanging out together on East Housatonic street as kids. Bob and I would jump into your Dad's stock car in the garage and pretend we were racing. Some great times playing flash light tag in your back yard at night. He was a lot of fun to be around.
